If HairGenesis™
is really so good, why don't you advertise?
("How come I haven't heard of it before?") |
|
Hair Genesis™ has been
on the market for more than eight years. The manufacturer
has invested a lot of money into on-going research and
development to make a better product than the other hair
growth treatment products available. As a result, the
formulas used in the products now are the 4th generation of
products. It was decided that it was more important to first
develop a better product that truly works, than to put that
money into advertising. And since the products do work,
there are thousands of satisfied consumers. Naturally, they
recommend it to their friends, co-workers and others. That
being said, the manufacturer does plan to start doing
advertising in the very near future.

What
is HairGenesis™? |
|
HairGenesis™ is the first botanically
derived treatment designed to arrest pattern hair loss and
baldness in
both men and women. It consists of four
products, each of which contains ingredients known to
block the binding of DHT or support DHT blockers. HairGenesis™
is the only hair loss treatment program which has been successfully
tested in independent and controlled FDA-regulated IRB-monitored
(Institutional Review Board) double-blind
research, demonstrating
safety and effectivenes.
The HairGenesis™ Oral Softgel formula
is based on a carefully balanced combination of nutritional
substances. These botanicals have been compellingly shown to
block the degenerative effects of the body chemical DHT implicated in the
onset and progression of pattern hair loss. Thus, the goal
of HairGenesis™ oral softgels (DHT blockers) is to treat the problem
systemically, and block the negative progression of pattern
hair loss and baldness before it has a chance to do damage to the hair
follicles and roots.
In contrast, HairGenesis™ Activator Serum (lotion) is a
topically-delivered formula designed to use directly on the
affected scalp area. It combines active botanical substances
found in the oral SoftGels into a highly potent solution
designed specifically to treat the scalp directly.
HairGenesis™ Activator Serum was made to use along with
HairGenesis™ oral softgels. This powerful treatment system
therapy works best when used in combination.

How does HairGenesis work™?
|
|
Both male and female pattern hair loss
disorders are believed to result from the hormonal
conversion of testosterone to a substance known as DHT (Di-Hydro
Testosterone).
A key step in this process is the conversion of testosterone
to DHT via the enzyme 5 alpha reductase. Reduced form DHT
binds to specific cellular points within susceptible hair
follicles known as androgen receptor sites. This binding
causes changes in the morphology (growth pattern) of the
hair. The follicle and accompanying structures begin a
process of miniaturization. The hair shrinks in diameter.
Over time, the scalp ultimately has more skin showing and less hair.
HairGenesis™ stops this process from occurring by blocking
several key points in this metabolic process. In doing so,
HairGenesis™ prevents the cascade of events that result in
hair loss due to thinning hair and baldness (alopecia).

|
|
Can HairGenesis™ help in other
ways besides hairloss treatment?
|
|
Among other
indications, the substances found in HairGenesis™ have a
long history of clinical use in the treatment of BPH (benign
prostatic hyperplasia), another disorder associated with DHT
metabolism. These substances have proven themselves very
safe in the treatment of this disorder.

What is the key
ingredient in HairGenesis?™
|
|
The formulation in
each of the HairGenesis™ hair growth products contains precise amounts of the specific
ingredients,
as noted
on the labels. These components have been carefully combined
into proprietary formulas for each product in the
HairGenesis™ treatment line. All ingredients are
necessary in order to achieve the excellent results found
with the use of HairGenesis™. Just as a gourmet recipe
requires an exact blending of specific ingredients at
precise levels, HairGenesis™ is also composed of a
delicately exact combination of nutritional substances
designed to protect your hair.

|
Have
there been
any medical studies conducted on these products?
|
|
Yes.
In fact, Hair Genesis is™ the only
non-drug hair loss treatment to ever demonstrate safety and
efficacy in an independent
clinical study under FDA-regulated
IRB (Institutional Review Board) monitored placebo-controlled, double-blind research.
(The other products that have such an FDA-regulated study
are the drugs Rogaine™ and Propecia™. One of the
reasons many other companies do not have such independent
double-blind studies performed is that it costs so much. Also,
you may want to read about these other independent
research studies and clinical
studies about pattern hair loss and baldness.

Does HairGenesis™ cure
hair loss?
|
|
No hair loss treatment product
is a cure for baldness or hair loss. Male and
female pattern hair loss presents primarily as a qualitative
change. That means that each affected hair becomes
progressively thinner over time. So HairGenesis™ works by
inhibiting the DHT Metabolism process that causes this hair
loss and supporting the natural growth of your hair through
clean, healthy hair roots and follicles.

|
How does HairGenesis™ compare with
Rogaine™?
|
|
HairGenesis™
is the first botanically-derived hair growth system designed to treat pattern hair loss
and baldness in
both men and women. As such, it
is completely safe and effective for both men and women of all
races to use. It is also the only hair loss treatment program
that is clinically proven by a double-blind
independent study to work. It
consists of four
products, each containing known ingredients that support
or work as DHT blockers. Using
all four products together helps to maximize the effectiveness
of each of them and helps you to stop losing your hair by
attacking the DHT both orally and topically. This is something
which Rogaine does not do.
Rogaine is a lotion, whose key ingredient is minoxidil, and is
applied topically. It does not work on all areas of the
scalp, particularly the front hair line area if one has experienced
noticeable thinning hair or significant hair loss. Also it does not work on the
back portion of
the scalp. Take a look at the Norwood
hair loss chart. Furthermore, Rogaine™ does not
effectively treat the root cause of hair loss on a long-term
basis, which is the degenerating effects of DHT. That's why you need to keep using Rogaine continuously
once you start.
Rogaine is available in 2% and 5% solutions. Based on clinical
studies, the 2% solution helps only about 26% of men and 19%
of women to experience moderate re-growth of their hair. Moreover, according
to the makers of Rogaine, if you start using it, and then stop, within
4 - 12 months
you
will definitely lose all of the hair you may have grown back.

How does HairGenesis™ compare with
the hair loss product Avacor™? |
|
Avacor™ is another Minoxidil-based
product. As such, it has some of the same drawbacks, side
effects, warnings and disadvantages as Rogaine and other
Minoxidil products do. Hair Genesis™ costs less, is more
effective, does not use Minoxidil and works on all areas of
your scalp, unlike Avacor. Click here

|
How does HairGenesis™ compare
with the hair loss drus Propecia™,
Proscar and Dudasteride™
(Finasteride)?
|
|
Propecia is a synthetic drug,
taken orally, based on the prostate drug Proscar and
regulated by the FDA. It is available from a doctor by prescription only,
and just for men. Studies show
that it works for only up to 48% of the men who use it.
It can cost as much as $500 per
year to use. (In comparison,
the HairGenesis™ 12-month Best
Value Pack costs just $369 per year.) Propecia has been shown to present possible negative
and adverse side effects
with prolonged use,
including those that affect the normal functioning of male
hormones in men. According to the makers of
Propecia, if you start using
it, and then stop, within 12 months you will definitely lose all of the hair you may have
grown back. Women are strictly
forbidden to use or even touch the drug, especially if they
are pregnant or nursing.
As stated above,
HairGenesis™ is the first botanically-derived hair growth system designed to
treat pattern hair loss and baldness in both men and women. As such, it
is completely safe and effective for both men and women of all
races to use. It consists of four
products, each containing known ingredients that in one
way or another support DHT blockers. Using
all four products together helps to maximize the
effectiveness of each of them and helps you to stop losing
your hair by attacking the DHT both orally and topically.
You would use the revitalizing and thickening shampoo and
conditioner as you would normally use shampoo and
conditioner. You would use the topical serum lotion, also
containing ingredients that support DHT blockers, just once
a day, at bedtime. It is also completely safe for both men
and women to use the exact same dosage and concentration
level. Finally, the oral softgels (DHT blockers), to be taken twice a day, are also completely safe
for both men and women to use. For more information, please

Rogaine and HairGenesis.

When should a person
begin using HairGenesis™ hair growth products?
|
|
HairGenesis™ is recommended for men
and women over age 18 who have begun experiencing the
symptoms of thinning hair and pattern hair loss and
baldness.

|
|
|
How long do I have to
use HairGenesis™ before I see results?
|
|
Scalp hair grows rather slowly. Due to
this gentle rate of growth-average 1/2" per month, it
will generally take three to six months of regular use in
order to fully appreciate the benefit of HairGenesis™.
Each individual hair on your scalp grows for two to five
years. This is known as anagen. The hair then goes through a
resting phase of approximately three months. This process is
known as telogen. When you begin to suffer the effects of
pattern hair loss, the anagen cycle becomes shorter and the
telogen cycle occurs more frequently. This means you have
fewer and fewer hairs growing on your scalp at any given
moment in time.
It is thought that in addition to protecting the hair from
miniaturization, HairGenesis™ may affect the duration of
hair growth more broadly. Think of this in relation to the
leaves on a tree. When autumn arrives, the leaves on a tree
shed. When spring returns, so do the leaves. Although human
scalp hair sheds in a mosaic pattern, and not all at once,
(the same way each hair has its own individual time clock)
the analogy is still valid. The onset of pattern hair loss
is to your scalp hair as shorter summers and longer winters
are to a tree. In other words, a tree subjected to long
winters and short summers would produce fewer leaves, which
would grow for a shorter and shorter duration of time.
HairGenesis™ is like a rejuvenation treatment that ushers
in longer summers and shorter winters for your hair. The
point is, the greater number of hairs you have in place and
growing on your scalp, the thicker your hair appears.

|
|
How
long will I have to use the products?
|
|
Results vary by
person. There are also other factors besides the bad effects
of DHT which can affect good results. These include diet and
nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, alcohol, heredity and
other environmental factors. Nevertheless, many people prefer to try the products for an initial
3 to 6 months period of time, and then continue for another
12 months of regular use, or until they
reach their desired level of hair re-growth and thickness.
The actual length of time needed to achieve your personal goals will vary. You
didn't lose your hair overnight, and so it will take time to
grow back. But by the end of 12 months of regular usage with the
four
products, most
people will already have achieved very noticeable good results.
After that, some people may continue using all or just some of the products
in a maintenance type program. What that means is that you would
probably continue to use the oral softgels (DHT blockers),
but use less or none of the topical lotion, shampoo or
conditioner.
One of the nice things about the Hair Genesis™ line of
products is that you may purchase any of them individually.
So at some point in time in the future, when you have
reached a desired level of hair growth or thickness, you can
decide whether you want or need to continue using the
topical serum lotion, shampoo and conditioner for instance.
You will better be able to make that decision
after you have used the products and seen what kind of results
they produce for you. Only then can you evaluate personally whether you
need to continue with some kind of maintenance program and if
so, which of the four products to continue using. Not every one will
necessarily need to do this and each person's maintenance
program may be different.
|
|
|
Why do I need to
continue using HairGenesis™ even after I start to see
results?
|
|
Your body continues to produce DHT,
regardless of your decision to initiate treatment. As we
have discussed, DHT has been shown to cause pattern hair
loss in both men and women. Although HairGenesis™ does not cure pattern hair
loss; HairGenesis™ blocks DHT from causing damage to your
hair. After a person achieves a certain level of hair
re-growth and / or thickness, he / she may wish to go on a
maintenance-type program.

|
|
What
will happen if I stop using the products?
Will I lose my hair, and if
so, how soon?
|
|
This
depends upon a number of factors: how much hair you initially
lost, how long you have been losing your hair, your age, your
diet, sleep, general health, hereditary and other things. Some individuals might lose some of the hair
they have
re-grown, but the length of time, if this did occur, would be
different with each individual.
This is due, in part, to the effects of the hormone DHT, which
continues to be produced in your body. But this is not automatic that you will definitely lose any of
the hair that you have re-grown. There are individuals that have
reported that they have lost none of their hair that has
grown back after stopping their use of some or all of
the products.
In
comparison with other hair growth products, note that according
to the makers of
both Rogaine and Propecia, users of their products will definitely lose all of the hair
they may have re-grown, if they stop using those products.
This has been clinically proven to happen within 12 months after
stopping those other treatment programs. Please
read this product comparison on Propecia,
Rogaine and Hair Genesis.
For some people it is
recommended that they continue using a DHT blocker (without
the shampoo and topical lotion) on a maintenance-type program to
assure that they will not experience that new hair loss. But not
everyone who stops using the products will necessarily lose any
or all of the hair that has grown back. You may also want to
check with your local health food store - there seems to be some
indication that 'saw palmetto', a natural herb, is somewhat
effective in blocking the effects of DHT.
According to the maker of one particular brand of Saw Palmetto, a
liposterolic extract of the fruit of Saw Palmetto (Serenoa
repens) is the most popular herbal supplement for the
promotion of prostate health in Europe. (This statement has
not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This
product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any
disease.)

|
|
Will HairGenesis™ cause
unwanted hair growth in areas other than my scalp?
|
|
Absolutely not. In fact, the same
metabolic mechanism that causes pattern hair loss is
believed to influence secondary hair growth in other areas
of the body. Therefore, although this hypothesis has not
been actively studied, HairGenesis™ may actually help
reduce the onset of (DHT mediated) unwanted facial and body
hair.

|
|
I
missed using the products for several days, will it hurt my
progress?
|
|
It
shouldn't hurt your overall long-term success. However, keep in
mind that frequently skipping the regular use of all the
products may slow down or
interfere with
your progress.

|
|
|
Can
I continue to perm/dye or straighten my hair?

|
|
|
Does HairGenesis™ work effectively on all types of hair?
|
|
Yes. Clinical tests have proven to be safe and effective on
all hair types, regardless of race or gender, because the method
for treating hair loss due to pattern hair loss and baldness
is essentially generally the same for all people.

shampoo and conditioner. You may purchase
any of the products separately, although you may save a lot of
money if you buy one of our Best
Value Packs.

|
|
Will
the oral softgels (DHT blockers) interact with any of my medications
and / or
vitamins?
|
|
The
oral softgels (DHT blockers) are formulated using naturally occurring nutritional
substances and they present no evidence of negative
side effects or drug interactions whatsoever. If you have
any further questions, we recommend that you consult your physician and show
the list of ingredients.
|
|
|
Are
there any side effects of using the oral softgels (DHT
blockers)?
|
|
No.
The oral softgels (DHT blockers) present no evidence of negative
side effects or drug interactions whatsoever.
Moreover there are no known side effects with their use. The
other three Hair Genesis™
products - topical serum lotion, shampoo and conditioner -
all contain ingredients which are known to support DHT
blockers, but each of these three products are only used
topically. Other hair growth products have various unwanted and
adverse side effects, such as testicular pain in men, swelling
in the lips and face and other unpleasant reactions. Some people
have complained that Rogaine, for instance, causes their scalp
to itch and flake.
Additionally,
some of the other hair growth products on the market are
classified by the FDA as drugs, such as Propecia, and may adversely affect the normal functioning of male hormones in
men.

|
|
| If
I am pregnant or nursing, may I use HairGenesis™? |
|
You
can safely use the revitalizing and thickening hair shampoo and
conditioner as well as the topical lotion, but you
should consult with your doctor before taking the oral softgels
(DHT blockers), unless allowed by your physician. With
hair growth products that use synthetic components or are
classified as drugs by the FDA (propecia,
finasteride,
proscar, dudasteride),
it can be extremely dangerous
for pregnant or nursing women to use or even touch those products at all.
